Post 8: A career-related article / An expert in your field

Hello everybody! Today I’m going to write about an article of the restoration, but is not any kind of restoration, I going to talk about a famous bad restoration that happen a time ago.  I mean the restoration of the “Ecce Homo” in the hands of Cecilia Gimenéz.

This news have place in the town called “Borja”. There was a painting of Christ in a church’s wall, well it was poorly maintained, and that’s mean that was disrepair. In this context appear Cecilia Gimenez and wanted to restored the painting, but the problem was that she ruined the picture.   Now the Christ look so funny and misshapen, and all the people laugh when can see it. Also the biggest problem is that the restoration can’t be reversible, so the Christ is going to remain whit that form forever.

This article was important for my carrier because one of the specialists on theory and history of art could be restoration, and this example of how you don’t have to do a job y perfect to inspirited to do your work well, because no one want to be accepted like a bad restorer.
